So, you've booked a shoot. Now what?
How to prepare for your photoshoot.

Things to do (at least) a week in advance
- Decide what you want to wear. If you've booked a portrait session, we should be able to go through 2-5 changes. If yours is a family shoot, coordinate your outfits, but avoid being in 'uniform'. Call and chat with me about this, if you like.
- For portrait sessions, I welcome you to bring along a girlfriend (or a sister, or your mum)! I'm happy to shoot her as well for no additional cost. So prep her in advance too (and let me know!). It actually works quite well, one of you will be getting ready while the other is being photographed. Pop open the bubbly and make an event of it!
- Finalise where you would like to shoot. Some locations don't allow photography, some charge a fee. My studio is mobile, so I can shoot anywhere. My house, your house, somewhere else. Most of my clients like to shoot in the comfort of their home, but I'm open to anything. I can arrange a studio, if you're more comfortable with that, though studio rentals would apply. Again, talk to me, I am here to make your life easier!
- Let me know if you want a make-up artist. This costs extra, and depends on availability. Please let me know as soon as possible, so we can book in advance.
- We tend to be our own worst critics. If there is something about your appearance or your comfort level in front of a camera, that concerns you, please share that with me. Between lighting, make-up, my instructions on what to do and how to pose, I can address those things, help you feel comfortable, and ensure that your photographs will look amazing!
- Talk to me! If you're unclear about something, or anxious or apprehensive about anything. Let's schedule a call and figure it out. I am just an arms-length away.
Things to do the day before the shoot
- Get your hair done, waxing, threading, manicure, pedicure, shaving, get a massage, all that stuff that makes us look and feel fantastic! Pamper yourself.
- Get a full night's sleep. Even if your shoot is in the afternoon, if you haven't slept well the night prior, it will show! Be sure you're well rested.
- Drink lots of water. Dry skin looks different from well hydrated skin.
- Double check your outfits, are they clean, ironed, wrinkle free?
- Relax, it'll be fun!
